Description

The pneumatic three-way control valve is a valve controlled by a pneumatic actuator to regulate fluid flow in three different directions. Seat Tightness Of A 3 Way Pneumatic Control Valve
The seat tightness of a 3 way pneumatic control valve is crucial during selection and installation. Inadequate tightness can lead to fluid loss and deterioration of sealing faces, causing premature valve failure.
Three primary factors influence seat tightness: the characteristics of the valve, installation method, and valve operation.

Characteristics Of The Valve
For satisfactory shut-off in a metal-seated valve, flat sealing surfaces with an excellent finish are essential. The disc should articulate on the stem without excessive friction from the guide. Achieving acceptable shut-off typically requires a surface finish of 0.5 μm and a flatness level of two optical light bands. High wear resistance in mating and sealing surfaces extends valve service life.
Unlike regular isolation valves, the closing force acting on the disc in a 3 way pneumatic control valve is relatively small due to minimal pressure difference. Resilient seals may enhance shut-off but are more prone to damage compared to metal seats.

Valve Installation
During installation, seat damage can occur when the valve is initially lifted due to dirt and debris in the system. Flushing the system before installation and mounting the valve in a debris-free location help prevent foreign matter passage.
