Working principle of butterfly valve

When the valve stem rotates, it drives the butterfly plate to rotate. When the butterfly plate is parallel to the pipeline (i.e. rotated 90 degrees), the valve is completely open and the fluid can flow freely. When the butterfly plate is perpendicular to the pipe, the valve is closed and the fluid cannot pass through.
